OpenDelos serves as a management tool for the educational videos developed under the framework of the “Central Repository of Greek Open Courses” initiative. The “Central Repository of Greek Open Courses” aims at supporting Greek Universities in developing and providing open academic courses. The main target of the project is to develop, and make available to the public, a National Open Courses Search Portal, as a means for searching centrally the Open Courses provided by Greek Universities. The OpenDelos platform utilizes the needed tools for supporting the following activities:

The published material featured on OpenDelos is closely connected to the educational materials hosted on Open e-Class. The student can utilize both platforms, in order to have a better and more completed educational experience. Both platforms provide live feeds of course metadata and information to the national aggregator portal, thus providing a general and complete image for all featured courses of participating institutions.

The main goal of the “Central Repository of Greek Open Courses” is to take advantage of, successfully utilized by educational institutions, internet technologies, in order to upgrade the teaching and learning experience and promote the important social role of educational institutions in people’s lives.

The OpenDelos platform takes action in managing the educational videos produced via the “Central Repository of Greek Open Courses” initiative. Through the respected tools it supports the following activities:
Utilization of disruptive Internet technologies leads to high quality, educational material which could upgrade the teaching procedure, highlight the important social role of educational institutes, and promote their teaching output at an international level.
Through the project and its practices students have to develop their self-awareness skills; certain lectures are being recorded, so clear sound and respective behavior are of utmost importance for high-quality results to be produced. On the other hand, adaptability to the practices and results of the platform, as well as its successful navigation, whenever needed are in focus, on behalf of the students.
