Digital Tools in Adult Education

National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

(Public University)

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in the context of its activities regarding lifelong learning, organized and carried out an educational program titled “Digital Tools in Adult Education”, structured on a curriculum of 200 hours, spread across 3 months. The aim of the project was to familiarize teachers and educators with a variety of digital tools, a process which allowed them to provide high-quality and effective education to learners, without adding extra workload, as it presents the tools, methodologies and procedures required in order for an educator to give digital shape to a traditionally taught course.

The project’s methodology follows distant education practices and included 185 hours of asynchronous education, and 15 hours of on-line conferences. Learners study the educational material provided on an e-learning platform environment, and at the same time scheduled meetings with their teachers are offered, should any issues or questions come up.

At the end of each didactic unit, participants will be asked to complete and submit an evaluation test and carry out a ‘digital content development’ project.

With the successful completion of the educational program, the relevant certificate is provided.
