‘Open Courses’ is a free learning environment, consistent with the mission of the university; to provide knowledge and expertise, in physical or digital shape and form, freely accessible by all interested parts. Courses taught at Greek universities and technological institutes, have now become available to everyone interested to access them over the Internet. Students, graduates, researchers, professionals, lifelong learners, and whoever wishes to extend their knowledge, or review educational material, can now have full access to courses that would otherwise take place only in physical classes, or would only be accessible by registered learners-students. At the same time, it is a great opportunity for instructors in order to:

• upgrade their educational material and broaden their audience, since they are able to reach students of different institutes and faculties, graduates, or whoever is interested in the courses provided
• Promote their teaching work, practices, and writings
• Keep improving as educators, by developing and updating open digital courses, thus constantly pushing forward in order to improve their teaching practices.
• Upgrade their educational material; the adaptation of the educational material, from its physical to its new, digital form, offers the opportunity to reassess and eventually improve the content – including inclusive thinking, accessibility to people with disabilities etc.

The aim of the platform is to provide courses taught at Greek universities and technological institutes, in digital form, freely accessible by all interested parts. Courses that would otherwise take place only in University classes are now freely accessible by whoever wishes to extend or re-new their knowledge.

Through the platform, courses taught at Greek universities and technological institutes, acquire digital shape and form, thus becoming available to anyone interested in accessing them over the internet.

Greek University and Technological Institute courses have now become available to everyone across the internet, interested to access them, thus broadening the target audience, as well as the opportunities provided. The educational process evolves by acquiring digital shape, leaving obstacles that go hand-in-hand with conventional educational practices behind.

Through the project, students had to develop skills such as self-awareness, as they had to individually use the platform with the open classes, and navigation of the digital system.
